
In October 2022, Yevhen Sokol, Rector of NTU "KhPI", and representatives of the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University of Aachen (RWTH Aachen) signed new agreements and extended existing cooperation agreements. Thus, starting in 2023, freshmen who have successfully passed the selection for the Innovation Campus will have the opportunity to join the exchange program with RWTH Aachen and receive education at both Ukrainian and German universities! The program provides for the receipt of two diplomas at once: state and European. Today, academic mobility is extremely important for students abroad. Exchange studies in Germany provide Ukrainian refugees with even more prospects for higher education and personal development as a sought-after IT specialist!
RWTH Aachen is one of the best European research institutes and offers 173 study programs at 9 faculties. The quality of education in such specialties as computer science, mechanical engineering, economic engineering and electrical engineering is competitive not only within Germany but throughout Europe.
The Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen) is a university founded more than 150 years ago, one of the top 9 technical universities in Germany, and currently provides education for almost 50 thousand students. RWTH Aachen is ranked 106th in the QS overall ranking and 90th in the field of Computer Science.
The university employs more than 13 thousand people, which is the largest number in Aachen. In addition, RWTH Aachen actively supports Ukraine, as evidenced by donations totaling more than €1 million and scholarships for Ukrainian students.
On May 14, 2023, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was solemnly awarded the Charlemagne Prize in Aachen. The award was presented to the Ukrainian people for their contribution to the realization of the values of European society, strengthening European unity and defending freedom. Nobel Peace Prize laureate, head of the Center for Civil Liberties and Ukrainian human rights activist Oleksandra Matviychuk was also invited to the ceremony.
